Vomiting Fan At Philly Ballpark Gets 30 To 90 Days

A New Jersey man has been sentenced to 30 to 90 days for vomiting on another spectator and his 11-year-old daughter in the stands during a Philadelphia Phillies game last spring. Matthew Clemmens, 21, of Cherry Hill, N.J., pleaded guilty in May to one count each of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment for his conduct during an April 14 Phillies-Nationals game at Citizens Bank Park. Common Pleas Court Judge Kevin Dougherty also sentenced him Friday to two years of probation and 50 hours of community service to be done at Citizens Bank Park.

The Yankees expect to acquire Lance Berkman from the Houston Astros on Saturday and already worked out a deal to obtain outfielder Austin Kearns from the Cleveland Indians. New York will send a couple of prospects to the Astros, a baseball executive familiar with the discussions said. The executive spoke on condition of anonymity because talks were ongoing.

The Jets have signed coach Rex Ryan to a two-year contract extension, and signed general manager Mike Tannenbaum to a new five-year deal -- keeping both with the franchise through the 2014 season. The team announced both deals Friday, two days before it reports for training camp in Cortland, N.Y. Tannenbaum's deal was signed last month.

Ex-NBA Player Wright Shot To Death

Former NBA player Lorenzen Wright, whose body was found in the woods outside Memphis, was shot to death and the case is being investigated as a homicide, police said Thursday.<br />
